Privacy Policy
Last updated: 4 June 2026
This policy explains what information ARFID Meal Planner ("the app", "we", "us") collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. We've tried to keep it plain. If anything is unclear, email us at hello@arfidplanner.com.
Who this is for
The app is intended for use by parents and caregivers (adults) to record information about the children in their care. It is not directed at children, and children should not use it directly. You are responsible for the information you choose to enter about another person.
The data you enter
You can record things like a child's name, age, weight and growth, safe/avoided foods, meal plans, tracking notes, exposure ladders, and sensory preferences. Some of this is health-related information about a child, which is sensitive — so we treat it carefully and only use it to make the app work for you.
Where your data is stored
- On your device (default). By default, everything you enter is stored locally in your browser on your device. If you do not create an account or join a household, your data is not sent to our servers, and clearing your browser data will erase it.
- In the cloud (optional). If you sign in with your email, or join a household for Family Sharing, a copy of your app data is stored in our cloud database so it can sync across your devices and be restored if you clear your browser. This is provided through Supabase, our backend provider.
Accounts and email
Creating an account uses a one-time code sent to your email address. We (via Supabase) store your email address to identify your account, and we use an email delivery provider (Resend) to send the code. We do not use your email for marketing. Your email is kept on your own account record and is not shared with other members of a household you join.
Household sharing
Family Sharing links devices using a private, randomly generated household code. Anyone who has that code (for example, the other parent you give it to) can see and edit the shared data in that household. Only share the code with people you trust. You can leave a household at any time in Settings.
Analytics
We use privacy-friendly, aggregate analytics from Vercel Analytics and performance data from Vercel Speed Insights to understand general usage (such as which pages are visited and how fast they load). These do not use third-party advertising cookies and are not used to build a profile of you.
Food lookups
When you use the nutrition estimator, the food name you type is sent to the Open Food Facts search service (through our server) to find matching products. We don't send any information about your child with these lookups.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not show third-party ads.
- We do not use your child's data for advertising or share it with advertisers.
Data retention and deletion
You are in control of your data. In Settings you can export a backup file, reset all data on your device, or — if you use Family Sharing — delete the shared household copy from the cloud. To request deletion of an account and any associated cloud data, email hello@arfidplanner.com and we will action it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the UK/EU GDPR), you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email above.
Children's data
The app records information about children only because a parent or caregiver chooses to enter it. We act as a processor of that information on your behalf to provide the service. We do not knowingly collect data directly from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. We'll change the "last updated" date above, and significant changes will be highlighted in the app where practical.
